Can't we find an OCA Orthodox lawyer who would be willing to offer his/her services pro bono to bring civil suits against Herman, Theodosius and Kondratick, et al, on behalf of the OCA members who want to see justice done? That is the ONLY way anything will happen, when the TOP is afraid of prosecution and incarceration. And I still don't understand why the IRS hasn't made any arrests.

I am a trustee on the Parish Council of XXXX, XXX, XX. One question I have is this: are you looking for individual pledges, or parish pledges? We are very likely to have a special parish meeting in the next few weeks, so any appropriate parish issue will be brought up there, and decided there.

This is the strongest message that can be sent. We welcome both parish and individual pledges.

I support the stepping down of Metropolitan Herman, I am not a member of the OCA but another jurisdiction. Can I still voice my opinion?

I applaud your efforts. I lean towards pursuing the movement of our parishes to the Antiochian Orthodox Church. I think this combined entity should then be renamed the American Orthodox Church. Obviously, this is not an orginal idea, but it makes sense to me.

That is a terrific idea. We know of a local Antiochian church that is not just thriving, but with some of the most welcoming people around.

The time to act is long past. The metropolitan must be removed and the complete truth must be told. The stonewalling and deception must end. It is time for the people, priests and Bishops to act. We have already waited too long. Many at the highest levels of the OCA have shown themselves to be morally bankrupt. We can no longer ignore this fact. We can no longer allow criminals to hold us hostage by spiritual manipulation. We can no longer wait for some mythical "defining event" to spur us to take action. We already know in our minds and hearts that a great evil has been perpetrated upon the flock by the shepherds. We have waited too long; let us wait no longer!

We mostly agree, some members of the Synod have shown sensibility, so let's not blame them all for this mess! But as far as selling Syosset - that's a grand idea. Across the street from the Cathedral in Washington DC was an old chancery building (formerly belonged to some nation, the street the cathedral is on is embassy row) - and it was for rent! Why didn't we pursue that property? An office across the street from the cathedral that is the seat of the Metropolitan?

Finally a place where the local parisioner may take an active position/part of this scandle with out being called "Out of Order at a monthly/yearly meeting". Also, this site, depending upon response, will be a voice our POOR Orthodox leadership needs to address. We can not let this current crop of thieves destroy our heritage. Nor destroy what our parents and grandparents worked so hard to establish.

"Crop of Thieves" - We like that description. It's a disgrace to those who helped form the church, indeed.
